Chief Executive Officer
Rachel commenced in the role of CEO of the Water Industry Alliance in July 2016. Rachel brings extensive experience to the role having worked in the water industry for nearly 20 years. In that time she has held senior roles within government and as an independent consultant.
Rachel has worked at the forefront of strategy, policy, engagement and program development including providing strategic and policy advice to the Chief Executive of the SA Department for Water and the SA Minister for the River Murray, being a member of the South Australian Murray Darling Basin Natural Resource Management Board and playing a key role in the development of Water for Good, South Australia’s Plan to secure water until 2050.
Rachel is a skilled facilitator who is often asked to bring people together to identify solutions collaboratively. Rachel holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Geography and Politics and Graduate Certificate in Future Studies. She continues to supplement her tertiary qualifications with accredited training courses in Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation, Risk Communications, Media Training and Freelance Journalism.
Events & Member Services Manager
Jessica joined the Water Industry Alliance in November 2013. As the Events & Member Services Manager, Jess runs all the WIA events, is the contact person for memberships and ensures the smooth running of the WIA office.
Jess has previously worked in a range of business and project support roles within Government, including the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion, as well as for Mr Mark Goldsworthy MP, the State Member for Kavel.
Jess' background in events comes from her previous employment with Disney Cruise Line working onboard their fleet of cruise ships as the Entertainment Operations Assistant.
Jess has also completed a Bachelor's Degree in International Studies, majoring in Politics and International Relations and is currently completing a Diploma in Event Management.
Marketing & Communications Manager
Alice joined the Water Industry Alliance in November 2016.
Alice’s career spans marketing roles in the primary industries sector for inputs, machinery, livestock, financial services and water components supply companies.
Alice is responsible for developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies, digital and printed materials, and member focused activities to fulfil the Water Industry Alliance’s (WIA’s) goals and targets.
This includes project managing the production of publications and collateral; website management, media liaison, copywriting and editing, building the reputation and brand of the WIA; and supporting the delivery and integration of social media and online activity.
Alice holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, and a Graduate Certificate in Management.
Bethany joined the Water Industry Alliance in May 2016.
Bethany plays a vital role in providing administrative support to the WIA team and assisting with events and member enquiries. With a background in customer care and business improvement, Bethany is helping the WIA to ensure our systems and processes are optimised to benefit our members.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Administrative Management), Bethany supports the activities of our office and members, including managing correspondence, planning meetings, organising travel, and assisting with events.
Bethany also undertakes research projects, and contributes to our communications as a writer.
Bethany’s work experience spans roles in insurance, customer service and sales.
