Project Details

This project involved upgrading the current Cleve CWMS treatment and reuse systems. The upgrade was to provide an improved quality of recycled
water, and maximise reuse opportunities within the Cleve township.

Project Involvement

The project included the preparation of a concept design report for the Cleve CWMS treatment and reuse upgrades, and subsequent full design and documentation. Design documentation included the preparation of design drawings, technical specifications and an irrigation management plan.

Project Technical Details

The Council had identified that the Cleve CWMS treatment and reuse system required augmentation to achieve effective treatment and sustainable reuse of reclaimed water, which benefits the community and complies with statutory requirements.

The upgrade of the Cleve Wastewater System comprises the design and documentation of:

  • the upgrade of the lagoon based system;
  • construction of a storage lagoon;
  • construction of tertiary treatment facilities, a pump station and reuse pipework to allow irrigation of the golf course;
  • connection of the stormwater lagoon into the reuse system.

The wastewater system upgrade was based on a philosophy that provided a robust and simple solution that ensures treatment of wastewater to a suitable standard for restricted municipal reuse purposes. The upgrade provided a reclaimed water system that utilises treated wastewater providing best value for the community and provided a wastewater system that is stable and sustainable.
