We're Launching the WIA Export Strategy for Members
April 2015
Globalisation is happening fast. Don't get left behind, as it opens a whole range of new opportunities. The WIA is here to help you take advantage of what it could bring!
Assessing your business and the broad range of markets can be challenging, the WIA Export Strategy is a platform to help members identify and respond to global demands for their expertise. The Export Strategy will include the following steps;
Step 1 – The Water Export Forum, held in April 2015, showcased seven global markets alongside each other, to give members an overview of the water opportunities that exist in each market. The market's include; India, China, North America, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, Europe and ASEAN.
Step 2 - The Export Survey. The Water Industry Alliance will work with and survey members to gain an indication of where they are already working and where they would like to be working based on their business capabilities.
Step 3 – Export Working Groups. The feedback from the survey will enable the WIA to facilitate regular group meetings for the companies that identify within each of the regions and will be introducing the groups to the strategic relationships formed on the international delegations and missions that the Alliance has attended or hosted. The first meetings of the following groups will be held:
China 10am, 28th August
India 1pm, 3rd September
ASEAN 3.30pm, 15th September
The WIA plays an important role in developing industry relationships with international markets and has been active in building relationships with regions including; India, China, North America, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, Europe and ASEAN. Over the last 12 months the WIA, along with several members, have participated in two visits to China and one to India to further develop the working relationships and provide input into the increasing water issues that these regions face.
The WIA’s export strategy will enable WIA members to suitably assess areas where their expertise are in demand and help them with the appropriate cultural, language and other training they may need to be ready for the international opportunities and skills and expertise being looked for in the water sector. This strategy will also encourage and facilitate WIA members working collaboratively and helping each other.
The strategy will be strengthened by engaging a range of subject matter experts as well as the appropriate foreign chambers to help support the companies’ strategic market entry plans.
Don't miss out on these exciting opportunities and getconnected to the WIA Export initiatives.
