Why Export

With rapid globalisation occurring and increasing environmental pressures due to climate change, the world is facing a water crisis on a global scale. Those within the water industry (individuals, companies and organisations alike) will be faced with new opportunities and challenges as a result; such as potentially entering new markets, an increase demand for their goods and/or services, and providing their expertise to create solutions for water issues faced in international communities. Depending on how a company chooses to respond, their brand awareness, growth and profit could increase.

Our Export Strategy for Members

The Water Industry Alliance (WIA) plays an important role in developing industry relationships with international markets and has been active in building relationships with regions including; India, China, North America, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa, Europe and ASEAN. Over the last 2 years the WIA, along with several members, have participated in visits to China and India to further develop the working relationships and provide input into the increasing water issues that these regions face.

The WIA’s export strategy enables WIA members to suitably assess areas where their expertise are in demand and help them with the appropriate cultural, language and other training they may need to be ready for the international opportunities and skills and expertise being looked for in the water sector. The strategy also encourages and facilitates WIA members to work collaboratively and help each other as a part of our Regional Working Groups.

Our Regional Working Groups

In 2015 the WIA launched its Regional Working Groups, otherwise known as Export Working Groups, for WIA members.

Our Regional Working Groups enable us to facilitate regular group meetings for the companies that identify within each of the regions and introduce the Groups to the strategic relationships formed on the international delegations and missions that the Alliance has attended or hosted.

The Groups are a platform to help members identify and respond to global demands for their expertise, and in the process exposing them to new export opportunities.

Our Regional Working Groups currently include:
India Regional Working Group
China Regional Working Group
ASEAN Regional Working Group
